Plant Based Nutrition

What Do You Mean - PLANT BASED NUTRITION

When we refer to a Plant Based Diet we are talking about a 100% plant based nutritional plan.  No animal products are knowingly consumed.  We do not bring them into our home and try to not get them when eating out, but the occasional amount of butter or dairy will be used in restaurants and bakeries.

We could use the term Vegan to describe the food we eat, but the term has a negative connotation from being associated with animal rights activists, tree huggers, or extreme environmentalists.  The beginnings of the Vegetarian and Vegan movements got their largest adherents in the political unrest of the 1960's and today still bears scars of the counter culture movement. (there have always been practitioners of plant based diets)

While being kind to animals is good stewardship, I'm not here to save the life of a cow, chicken or a pig. In reality, we are competitors for the same food.  In the end, the human wins that battle. Animals are not necessary in our diets. Meat production is a very inefficient method for human food production. God gave us the animals as companions and for enjoyment.  I had already decided that I would no longer hunt with a bow, but would use a camera instead, even before I became a plant based eater.  I also believe that God placed Adam in the garden of Eden to care for it and use the resources that he e provided there.  Today, that translates to being a husbandman of the land, caring for it and using it to provide for our comforts and needs.

Plant Based Nutrition is a more conservative term, more descriptive of what we do and can appeal to middle class Americans.  When someone asks me what plant based nutrition is, I just tell them it's Vegan without all the baggage.

Our slogan is "Be a 100 Percenter". We are 100% plant based or as close as we can knowingly be.  We also strive to be close to 100% raw at times.   Find out the benefits of Raw food here (Raw Food)
